The lanyard material can be classified in different kinds of material. Each material has its own merits and drawbacks. For example, Polyester fiber, Polyamide fiber (Nylon), PVC, Polypropylene fiber (PP), Cotton fiber, Artificial fiber and so on.

While the most popular materials which were used in lanyards are Polyester fiber and Nylon. The following is the detailed description about both materials.

1. Polyester introduction:

Definition:

One of synthetic fiber, which developed very well in chemical fiber industry.

  Function:

 High strength. The strength of short fiber is 2.6-5.7cN/dtex. While the high strength fiber is 5.6-8.0cN/dtex. The intensity of anti-resistance of Polyester is 4 times higher than of Nylon.

 Good flexibility. The flexibility module is 22-141cN/dtex, which is 2-3 times higher than Nylon.

 Well heat resistance.

 Great water absorption.

2. Polyamide fiber (Nylon) introduction:

There are about 20 kinds of Nylon material. Such as Nylon 6, Nylon 66, Nylon 11, Nylon 610 and so on. We have to say that the leading material is Nylon 6, Nylon 66.

Definition:

One of synthetic fiber, which is the earliest synthetic fiber material around the world.

Function:

 Great resistance ability. The break strength is about 42-56cN/detx, which accounted for the leading part in common textile fiber.

 Good moisture absorption. The moisture regain in regular atmospheric condition is at 4.5%.

 Well dyeing behavior.

 Good corrosion resistance.
